National Paintball Scene: No More?

These are just some rumors I heard but if they turn out to be right then national tournaments in paintball could be no more.

The first rumor is that PSP could possibly be going under after MAO, as MAO could be the last PSP event. My source told me that PSP has a $300,000 debt and has not been able to pay it. PSP was hoping, since NPPL went bankrupt, that the Phoenix open and MAO would bring in more teams and help pay off their debt but the Phoenix open only brought in the average amount of teams and MAO will probably do the same.

The second rumor is that USPL Surf City Open in Huntington Beach may not happen either because not that many divisional teams have registered and paid. The fact that the event is held on the beach makes renting the venue expensive and with not enough teams, USPL can’t pay for it, so….

Vote for HB Field Layout

USPL will be using 1 field layout for the Surf City Open in Huntington Beach and they have left to the players to decide the field layout. You can vote for which field layout you like in their forum on PBNation. The bunkers are the same as NPPL bunkers except the middle bunker, which is now a “U”.

If your team plans on playing this event, hurry and do it now because there is a 130 team cap and over half of the spots have been filled. You can register at the USPL site.

Division 2 and 3 Classification Clarification:
If you have played in 5 events as Division 3, you must move up to Division 2.
If you have played in less than 5 events in NPPL or PSP, you can compete in the USPL as Division 3.

Paint Program:
Paint will be available for pick-up or purchase at the Huntington Beach event.

2-Day Prelims:
We appreciate all the participation on the PbNation.com poll asking teams if they would like to play their prelim games in just one day or spread them out over Friday and Saturday. The players voted and will be playing their prelim games over Friday and Saturday with all finals held on Sunday. Thank you for your input!
