This is exciting since I live in Houston. I heard rumors around August that PSP was thinking of having an event in Galveston and turns out it to be the season opener. From what I heard back in August, the location they were thinking of was around 100-200 ft from the beach. Granted it’s not one of the actual beaches where all the people are but you can see the water and what not.
The event will be during spring break, March 11 – 13, 2011. The beaches in Galveston do attract a lot of people around this time of year albeit spring break in Galveston is nothing compared to spring break in South Padre Island but you can still expect to see some beach bunnies sunbathing.
The Galveston Island Convention and Visitors Bureau, PSP, and Galveston Island Paintball are all working together to bring a great event. The Galveston Island Convention and Visitors Bureau is very excited about bringing PSP to the little island and have decided to give each attendee a “Smart Card”, which can be used for discounts at stores, bars, shops and restaurants. The last event that GIP had, the owner got all the 21+ players discounts at the local bars. (I thought that was awesome.)
